The news that the Susan B. Anthony list—an anti-women’s health organization that asks all Republican candidates to sign a pledge to appoint cabinet and executive appointees who are committed to defunding Planned Parenthood—announced they are spending over a million dollars to elect Ken Cuccinelli is hardly a surprise. He is, after all, one of the most extreme anti-women’s health candidates running for election this year.  Just the type of out-of-the-mainstream politician with whom SBA List aligns. This is the group, after all, that is offering training for candidates on how NOT to talk about rape after a string of extreme lawmakers’ offensive and inaccurate comments helped earn their electoral defeat in November. This  is the same group that endorsed extreme, out-of-touch candidates like Richard Mourdock and Todd Akin.

So we need not be surprised—but we must be vigilant and we must be active. As has been widely reported, Ken Cuccinelli’s positions put him well outside his party’s mainstream. But in a low turnout election year such as this one, every vote is going to make a difference and the race will be close. That’s why Planned Parenthood Virginia PAC, Planned Parenthood Votes, and Planned Parenthood Action Fund are working together to keep Ken out. Building on our highly successful 2012 electoral work in Virginia, we plan to educate and mobilize thousands of voters about Ken Cuccinelli’s dangerous agenda for women’s health and economic security.

We’re committed to doing everything in our power to keep Ken out of the governor’s office. We know that the more Virginia voters learn about Ken Cuccinelli’s agenda for their health and economic security, the less likely they are to support him. That’s why we’ll be taking our message to the streets, to the phones and to the doors in the months leading up to November. Planned Parenthood Virginia PAC is a trusted source of information for women and their families – with over 148,000 Planned Parenthood activists and supporters in Virginia, alone.

Ken is great and so is SBA List. They defend all women, both born and pre-born!

You have your “issue” but Ken Cuccinelli is so much more. A principled Attorney General, he worked with the Fairfax Board Of Supervisors to sue the EPA. He won by convincing the Court that “water is not a pollutant” and saved the Board and Ffx tax layers over $500M. Leading the Commonwealth in difficult times needs more than a MS businessman, who happens to live in VA, with little else to show for his candidacy.

I support Ken Cuccinelli and I support defunding Planned Parenthood. I support both of these things because i support all baby’s right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Why is the act of coming out of the womb mean a person is any more entitled to protection than while in the womb?

Hmmnn…I think you folks need to get your facts straight. Not all women think Ken is wrong about women’s health and rights….he is not a radical about anything.
Someone has to stand up to murder and that is what abortion is…check out the situation in Philadelphia. How long will you be in denial about the truth of abortion?
You will be judged for your ignorance someday. Tis sad!

    1) Supporting Planned Parenthood with tax dollars is unconstitutional (not that it matters to your contingency who so vehemently despise it). 2) Abortion is health care ONLY when it is a last resort to save the mother’s life in a RARE complication—-because, biblically, thou shall not murder includes a value to the life of the mother, as well. 3) Abortion is otherwise murder. 4) If it is not a baby’s body inside the mother, then it is not a pregnancy. 5) As a woman, I would never expect taxpayers to fund my birth control, which is also NOT a healthcare issue and a redistribution of wealth, otherwise known as Socialism. Why do you people insist on Socialism as a viable means of government??? Fund your culture of death organizations with your own private dollars.

Dana, I think you are correct on all counts, save perhaps one.
What these people seem to really want is neither freedom (as they claim) nor socialism in its truest form.
What they really crave is fascism.
Women, health care, abortion — these are simply pawns in their ultimate political agenda.

That the power of the state would be used to favor corrupt and allied private business entities, like Planned Parenthood (recent profits: $ 5 Billion) is no surprise..

Ken Cuccinelli is a true friend of women and a champion for human liberty. Planned Parenthood is an evil organization, seducing women and girls with the seductive lie that it is somehow progressive for girls and women to be as promiscuous as beasts, and to kill their undesired offspring as if children are no more than zero-value kitchen trash.

Why does Keep Ken Out so loathe women? Why do you so loathe yourselves? What happened to you that you now champion such destructive “progressive” ideology.

“Women’s Health Care” is not abortion.
To say that SBA List, or any other prolife organization (like the Virginia Society for Human Life – see http://www.vshl.org ) is simply a lie.
Why not call it what it is?
Are the writers of this article ashamed?
