Ken Cuccinelli has made defunding Planned Parenthood health centers and denying Virginia women access to quality, affordable health care top priorities throughout his career. But his attacks on Planned Parenthood and women’s health have real consequences for Virginia women like Vanessa who have turned to Planned Parenthood for access to quality, affordable health care.
More than 24,000 women and men across Virginia rely on Planned Parenthood health centers every year, and one in five women in the U.S. has visited a Planned Parenthood health center at least once in her life – not to make a political statement but to get high-quality, affordable health care. In 2012-2013, 17 percent of women aged 15-44 in Virginia were uninsured. But the policies Ken Cuccinelli supports would go even further to limit these women’s access to affordable health care.
Ken Cuccinelli’s has continually put his extreme ideology ahead of the thousands of Virginians who rely on Planned Parenthood health centers for preventive health services like birth control and lifesaving cancer screenings. If we’re going to protect access to health care, for women like Vanessa, we must fight to keep Ken out of the governor’s mansion.
